Hoarfrost

Finally we got some snow so the Kids could play but we also got lots of ice so I couldn't leave the house for two days. The Kids had so much fun sledding with the neighbors.

Hair.

Well after more than a year of not even trimming my hair it was to my waist.

Thanks to a gift certificate from last mother's day and Mr. K. finally being home to look after the girls though I now have a new hair-do. I love it. This dye thing could become addictive though.

What do you think?

Horror!

Verizon cut off my DSL two weeks early. Mr. K and I have both spent hours on the phone getting routed to every continent but Antarctica trying to get it fixed with no results. I've now trying to get as much done as possible during the two hour "free" (believe me never trust a company with a clown as its primary spokesperson) connection at McDonald's. The library also has free internet but I can't log in to many places (including here) because of their fire wall. Also there are no plugs in here so more than likely my battery will die before the time limit is up anyway. Place is currently packed with junior college kids playing mancala. Guess they could be doing worse things.

Hormone Test

I just realized that once again I forgot to do my hormone test today. The nurse practitioner wants me to chew on these cotton things three times in a day and return them to the office. Only problem is I don't remember until nine o'clock at night. Maybe it is my subconscious protecting me though because when I go in to return that sample I have to have my blood drawn. When I was in the office on Wednesday the nurse got nothing and the lab tech grabbed my wrist so hard it bruised. But if either of those two are there again I'm not going to even try.

House is ready for the movers. I can't believe how much we got done today. The Kids and I are going to hide at the neighbor's tomorrow. So glad it isn't me handling the movers this time!

He's home and I'm busy.

Well Mr. K finally arrived home last night after nearly a year away. He missed his connection at JFK and then the whole bird in an engine thing made all the flights late. Thankfully though the Kids and I were able to hang out at the USO in the airport which was wonderful. Many thanks to the volunteers who make being a part of the Army a little bit better sometimes. If you are military member remember to check out the USO at the airport the next time you travel and tell them I sent you with a big thanks!

I'm so busy trying to call utility companies (telephone? check, electric? check, gas? check), get things in the right place for the movers, and get luggage packed that I've barely registered Mr. K's return. Right now he's playing Monopoly with the Kids though so at least I can have a private moment.

Things I still need to do: put change of address card in, schedule walk through with landlord, find the air mattresses, eek! what am I forgetting?

To all who have helped me get through this past year as a geographically separated single mother thank you and you are welcome to come visit us in the Land of the Morning Calm any day.

Here we go again.

Well the time has come once again for Karhaman and Kids to move. Less than two years after arriving back to America from Germany we are moving to South Korea. The Kids are just excited that they will have their Baba back but I'm excited about the new opportunities for eating and shopping.

I am going to miss Virginia and the tiny town we've lived in since April 2007.

Thankfully the Army is sending movers to pack up most of our stuff and put it into storage. I'm so not ready to unpack again. We are sending a small shipment over but it is mostly my sewing machines, books, and toys.

So goodbye big mac hello kimchi!
